John Daniel Sanders, Sr., of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on June 17, 2017 at the age of 73. John had a long career in law enforcement, working for different agencies as a Police Officer, Instructor and Trooper before retiring as a Parole Officer with the Alabama Department of Pardons and Paroles. He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police and served as the Secretary-Treasurer for Alabama for several years. After he retired, he owned and operated a lawn care service along with his wife, which they enjoyed.

Preceding John in death were his wife, Norma Sanders; parents, Daniel and Stella Sanders; step-daughter, Marry Ann Perdue; and brother, Jerry Sanders. His memory will be cherished by his children, John (Lorilei) Sanders, Jr. of Deatsville; Bill (Rhea) Hibbert of Montgomery; and John (Krystal) Hibbert of Orlando, Florida; brother, James (Linda) Sanders of Montgomery; grandchildren Jonathan Sanders, Abigail Sanders, Amanda (Patrick) Ruland , Jonathan (Kari) Hibbert , and Andrew Hibbert; great-grandchildren Gunner Ruland and Ezra Hibbert; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at White Chapel- Greenwood Funeral Home with Pastor Don Darling presiding. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will follow the funeral service immediately in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors.
